On the 11th day after birth, our tradition is to formally name the child. On April 3rd, 2008, we celebrated this important event and Vanitha Patti had set things up in grand style as always. Laura had decorated the crib and Vanitha Patti brought two plates with the Om symbol on one and Rohan's name spelled out in English and Tamil on the other. Chad and Drea had brought the letters to spell his name too and we were able to keep all of this next to his crib. We each took turns whispering Rohan's name to him in his crib and Rohan actually cooperated quite well even though he was ready for Mommy to feed him his dinner. Vanitha Patti had also prepared Idlys, chutney, and shundal for the event complemented by Grammy's fruit salad and cheese and PapPap's veggie and home made dip. It was quite the set of tasty items to feast on after the ceremony.

Rohan is doing a great job in bringing the families together time and time again!!! We are enjoying spending time with Tom, Marie,Chad, Drea, Jessica and Jason!! Jason and Jessica are really getting to know their cousin Rohan and his grandparents Vanitha Patti and Babu Thatha!!!
